About Maggie

I have always had an interest in Art, but it was not till my children were at school that I followed my interest up. I took an A level pathway course that led me to The Kent Institute of Art arnd Design in Canterbury. Starting with an access course followed by a five year BA Hons degree in Fine Art which I completed in 1990. I followed this up with a teaching certificate at Canterbury college.

At this point I joined the Creative Foundation which was situated in the old Glass Works along with other artists. I had decided to paint for six months and put on a solo show 'Seasense' at George House ' Folkestone. Much to my surprise and delight it was a sell out. Because of this success, I have continued to paint and sell work through exhibitions and commissions.

I work in many mediums from oils, watercolours, acrylics, pastels, inks and collage. My subject matter is varied, depending on a customers preference. My preferred subject is The Sea and landscapes. An affinity from a childhood spent in Northumberland where the seashore and landscape remain unspoilt, with big sky's and long beaches.

My work will be displayed for the next month. However, I will be opening my space to established Artists. If you are interested in the hiring the gallery please contact Maggie on below information. I am planning an official opening on Friday 9th June 17.30-20.30 where you can view my work, and if you are seeking a piece of art unique to you or for a gift then please contact me on
